installing and grouting granite tile

I am wanting to install 12x12 Granite (http://tanbrown.org) tile on a kitchen Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) , Crema de Bordeaux, Brazil. I would like to use colored knife grade epoxy for the grout joints. This would match the tile. I would be using a 1/16 inch spacer for the grout line. Is it possible to use colored knife grade epoxy in this manner? If so, what would be the best way to approach it. Would I need to mask off the tile before grouting with epoxy to keep it off the Tiles (http://www.g682.net) or can the epoxy be applied and (http://maplered.com) cleaned up after grouting. Could any excess epoxy be buffed off with a 10000 grit pad?
